Building Collaborative Communities

Presenter: Ashley Streeter and Andrea Thiry-Wenz

Location: Tundra A/B

Teaching students takes a village. Since its inception in 2019, Northeast Wisconsin School of Innovation has taken this to heart and begun working with its local community to provide collaborative and nontraditional learning for its students. Some of the opportunities this presentation will cover include: service learning and volunteer work, career and technical training, work-based learning, and dual credit scholarship. Presenters will also discuss the school’s competency and proficiency-based grading scale and the interconnectedness of these pieces with the larger learning puzzle.
