Something you may not know about me, is that I am a "retired" musical director.  Theater and acting are just branches of my passion, literacy.  Each year, when I was charged with finding the "just right" musical for our small (but growing!) pool of actors, I had certain things I always looked for.  Popularity- would this draw a crowd?  Relevance-Would it bore my cast to death?  Uniqueness- Had other schools in the area already tried this?  Songs- How much of my sanity would I lose over the next nine weeks with these songs on repeat in my head?  If a musical passed this test, it was going to be our next hit.

Just like musicals (bonus points- do you know which one the title is from?) great at-risk programming needs to answer the same questions.  It is my goal to highlight some of the great things our members are doing over the next six years and also possibly help you find your "next great hit."   There are so many awesome things going on around the state that we all can learn from.  Not only that, but there are some awesome teachers who deserve thier time in the spotlight.

If you know a great program (or run one!) send me an email.  I would love to come visit your school for a day and tell your story.
