GEDO Insights

Our members cover so many areas (and often all of them at the same time!); credit recovery, competency based, online and computer instruction, guided tutoring, GEDO2, and more!  Maybe someday we will get a list of all our members and their programs (we have tried several times, it just changes so much). Our goal is to help ALL of these programs and staff members.  Today's topic: GEDO2

If you are not familiar with what this is, the DPI has some great information here (FAQ's are the best place to start).  But as anyone who currently teaches this course, this information hardly scratches the surface!  So what is a new teacher in this program supposed to do?  We are here for you!

This year, we brought back the fall GEDO2 meeting, we are hoping that in the following years, this can again be a regional meeting in several different locations to make it more accessible to everyone.  Sherry Holly, our new DPI representative, is excited to be working with all of us. If you have questions that are above or individualized, please feel free to reach out to her.

Randy Kent (one of our rockstar board members from Fondy!) has put together this great presentation about starting off in the GEDO2 world.  Not only that, but he has an awesome website for his students (and now us!) to look at.  He has many great resources listed here, and is a great wealth of information.

Some other great resources, are paper testing ID's.  Some colleges (Western TC for sure) allows students who don't have ID's to have one made by the school.  This is a copy of the one that I have used in the past for my students.  It is all up to your chief examiner, what they will or will not allow.

There are a lot of great resources (ahem, people) around our state who have your back when it comes to GEDO2.   If you have questions, give us a shout out, we are here to help you!  Hope the year is off to a running start!

*Note: For some reason the links are showing up white, AND I AM GOING OUT OF MY MIND FIGURING OUT WHY!  So please click on the blank white space where words are written in stupid white text that I can't change for some reason.  Thank you :)
